Ionospheric Correction for MARSIS on Mars Express and Total Electron Content (TEC) Estimation

Abstract

MARSIS surface echoes need a ionospheric correction because the two-way travel through the ionosphere defocuses the signal. This process provides also a powerful tool to study the ionosphere and more particularly the Total Electron Content (TEC).
