Raman lidars for a better understanding of pollution in the Arctic System (PARCS)
Résumé
The development of oil and gas drilling and the opening of new shipping routes, in the Barents and Norway seas, rise new climate and air quality challenges to the Arctic environment. To improve our knowledge of the interactions between aerosols, water vapor and cloud cover, within the French PARCS project, Raman lidar observations were performed from the ground and an ultra-light aircraft near the North Cape of Norway, and coupled with measurements of a 95 GHz ground-based Doppler radar.
