Résumé
We discuss the formation mechanisms of organic material found in martian rocks from both laboratory and Curiosity rover observations. We advance an initial model for organic geochemical cycling on Mars, its implications for life detection on Mars, for the formation of life on Earth and how to find life on other solar system bodies.
