Modeling of HDO in the Martian atmosphere
Résumé
The ratio of deuterium (an hydrogen atom with an extra neutron) to hydrogen (D/H) is essential to explore the inventory of water on Mars, and its evolution in time. Here we use a 3D model of the atmosphere of Mars to which we added a representation of HDO (semi-heavy water). Such simulations will be used in comparison with the observations from the Trace Gas Orbiter spacecraft, currently in orbit around Mars, which is the first to provide vertical profiles of HDO.
