In Situ Investigation of Titan's Prebiotic Chemistry and Astrobiological Potential

Résumé

Titan is a prime target for astrobiological exploration. Its abundant complex carbon-rich chemistry, interior liquid water ocean, and past presence of liquid water on the surface make it an ideal destination to study prebiotic chemical processes in detail and document the habitability of an extraterrestrial environment. In situ measurements are required to fully assess Titan's habitability and astrobiological potential, and such exploration would yield unprecedented discoveries at this uniquely carbon- and ice-based world.
