Energy Balance Evolution and Forcing across the ALPACA-PBL domain
Résumé
We analyze the Energy Balance regime in four locations across the ALPACA-PBL domain. The experimental sites represent the variations in the land-surface and the atmospheric flows regime for the entire ALPACA domain. The sites included in the present analysis are the Goldstream Valley site (cold pooling buildup), the Boreal forest UAF-Campus site (coniferous black spruce forest vegetation on discontinuous permafrost), the UAF-Campus Farm site (agricultural site off-the mountain slopes on the Tanana Valley Basin) and the Creamers field site (an open field nearby the urban canopy on the Tanana Valley Basin). Results are expressed as time series of turbulent and radiative fluxes as a function of synoptic meteorology. A summary of energy balance closure and surface radiative forcing input needed for mesoscale modeling will be presented.
